ISDN

ISDN SWITCH-TYPE; global command to specify the ISDN switch to which the router connects (Nortel, AT&T, etc).

ISDN SPID1 and ISDN SPID2; used to specify the SPID required to access the ISDN network when your router makes its call to the ISDN exchange.

ENCAPSULATION

ENCAPSULATION HDLC; enables HDLC encapsulation on an interface. This will remove any previous encapsulation. This is default.

ENCAPSULATION PPP; enables PPP on a PPP interface.

PPP; controls PPP functions

PPP AUTHENTICATION PAP; enabled PAP authentication on a PPP interface.
